Tandem-Junction
Cell Specifications:
- thin-film amorphous
silicon, 175mm x 60mm (less
than 1mm thick), easily integrated with other components
- output 330mA and
1.2V (stable), a usable current/voltage characteristic,
open circuit 2V in full sunlight
- flexible, virtually
unbreakable (the cell should not be folded flat)

with pinch terminals), waterproof, high power/weight ratio

- applicable to all climates
because it also responds to light scattered by cloud cover

The tandem laminates
are first generation of this PV technology (effectively
two cells in one giving enhanced spectral response so cells
respond also to light scattered by cloud cover), and were
manufactured by United
Solar Systems Corp. based in Troy, MI., USA.
The lastest
advance of this technology incorporates three PV layers and is
manufactered as triple junction spectrum-splitting
PV cells
