The format, strategies and activities for the events have been influenced by the outcomes of courses, workshops and presentations conducted during past several years, these include:
- Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council solar electricity initiative
- London Electricity and Islington Educational Business Partnership
- Renewable energy courses for the Workers Educational Association
- Renewable energy product invention and manufacture course in collaboration with the Sheffield Centre for Product Development and Technological Resources (SCEPTRE) Sheffield Hallam University(Engineering).
- Renewable energy INSET workshops designed for Yorkshire Electricity/CREATE energy saving in schools scheme
- INSET and SUNDAY workshops designed in collaboration with the Earth Centre - Doncaster for local schools and the general public respectively.
- Solar electricity workshops for National and International Conferences e.g. Energy 21 Conference and SUSTAIN 99'
- British Association Youth Section (bays) Annual Festival of Science(1999) schools solar electricity workshops
- INSET and workshops for National and Local conferences of the Association for Science Education(ASE)
- European Energy Net project,1996 in partnership with the UK Solar Trust and participating schools in London and Sheffield..
