Extracts from gearbox assembly instructions
The gearbox may be assembled with a gear ratio of 3:1, 9:1 or 27:1. The numbers tell you how many revolutions the motor makes for each revolution of the axle shaft. Ratio 9:1 (9 motor revs. per axle rev.) gives a faster axle speed but less torque (turning force) than ratio 27:1. Experiment is the best way to find which ratio suits your application.
Gear 1 is lower on motor shaft for ratio 27:1 so it will mesh with gear 2 but not gear 3.

Push motor into casing part A with wires on opposite side to flat edge of casing.
Slide shaft into casing axle hole so gear no. 4 meshes with gear no. 3. Gears drive each other in the order shown by arrows.
